First Project Day of 2024
The first Project Day of Aviation in Transition in 2024 has concluded, marking a successful networking event with all project leaders. Due to numerous developments, Ron van Manen, Director of Aviation in Transition, and Ilse Beoletto, Program Manager at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, provided an update on the current status of the LiT program and the National Growth Fund.
Daan van Dijk delivered an insightful overview of the sustainability measures implemented by Rotterdam The Hague Airport and Schiphol, detailing their plans for facilitating future sustainable innovations. He highlighted how collaboration at the European level through TULIPS – Green Airports and Horizon Europe enables acceleration and deepening of these efforts.
It is encouraging to note that concrete collaboration and synergy with LiT projects are already visible on various fronts, such as the availability, accessibility, and infrastructure of hydrogen through the DutcH2 Aviation Hub at Rotterdam The Hague Airport, serving as the home base for the HAPSS project by Conscious Aerospace.
Finally, two project leaders, Johnny van Lugtenburg from GKN on electrical wiring and Peter Kortbeek on behalf of the NAG on strengthening the entire ecosystem around aviation sustainability, presented their insights.
All in all, an inspiring gathering.
